Wyllie Martial Arts was established by Greg Wyllie in 1985

The core team are the Wyllie family, Greg, Steve and Chris, who together have 100 years of martial arts experience, encompassing Taekwondo, Hapkido, Kray Maga; Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Karate.

Master Greg Wyllie, pioneered martial arts on Sydney’s Northshore and Wyllie Taekwondo proudly boasts the largest school’s martial arts academy in Sydney. The Wyllie family strives to teach martial arts students self control, perseverance, integrity, courtesy and above all an indomitable spirit.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art known for its incredible kicking style and footwork. It   means the art of kicking, blocking and punching. Taekwondo is not only a physical skill, it’s a way of thought and life.
The Korean word ‘TAE’ translates to ‘kick with the foot’. ‘KWON’ is a ‘hand/fist’ to block, strike or punch. ‘DO’ means ‘The Way’. Wyllie Taekwondo focuses on all aspects of the art, including competition, self defence & traditional training.

We have several boxing services available, including sparring and focus mitt sessions for self defense/competition, boxing for fitness, and of course our popular brand Strike Fit Boxing. Across all types of boxing sessions, proper boxing technique and stances is paramount.. whilst getting fit fast! Expect lots of core and cardio!

Kick Boxing

We combine several styles of kickboxing at Wyllie HQ, focusing on Dutch & Thai with a traditional Japanese/Korean Martial Arts spin! Our kickboxers are very unorthodox and very hard to read.

Krav Maga

Krav Maga

We work on all aspects of this Israeli self defence system, including all strikes, takedowns, multiple attacker training & weapons defence (to name a few). A very fun and creative program to learn, yet reality based and an extremely effective form of self defence.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

We practice real BJJ! IF you love wrestling, rolling, submissions and fitness training in general, this martial art is for you. Have all your bases covered by practicing this brand of BJJ; a totally unique style of ground fighting that is rare in Australia.

At Wyllie, reducing the possibility of injury through correct movement is key to long term health. Whether it be to keep fit or to train for competition, all our instructors are qualified personal trainers and can get you on the right path to achieve your goals.
